Seahawks’ Jamal Adams is being investigated for his controversial tweet that targeted a reporter’s spouse

The 28-year-old Seattle Seahawks player Jamal Adams is in a difficult situation as a result of criticism directed towards him on social media.

The dispute started when SNY reporter Connor Hughes, who covers the New York Jets and Giants, shared a clip of Adams playing against safety Jake Ferguson of the Dallas Cowboys, who scored the game-winning touchdown.

Hughes posted the picture to X (previously Twitter) with the simple remark “Yikes.” Sports Illustrated reports that in reaction, Adams posted a close-up photo of Hughes’ wife Brie with the same scathing description that the writer had used to critique Adams’ gameplay. Even though Adams later removed his original tweet, the NFL community did not hold back in denouncing the player for his cruel statement.

“Taking cheap shots at people doesn’t change the fact that he’s been a disaster with the Seahawks, and the Jets have been a better defense without him,” one fan said in response to the removal of the post. Adams was attacked by another commentator, who said, “This makes you look like an ass.”

Many others agreed that Adams lacked maturity; one person emphasized, “Three years ago, Jamal Adams left New York as an immature loser. After three years, nothing has changed. Trash Adams was referred to as a clown by an additional user, who said, “You’re a clown bud.”

“Don’t start nothin won’t be nothin,” Adams wrote in a subsequent tweet that is still visible on his account in response to Hughes’s issue. Adams refuted a fan’s accusation that he was “doubling down on it” by declaring, “I ain’t doubling down on nothing.” With it, I’m ten toes tall. Last night, bro adjusted the ball incredibly and made a play. Greetings. The NFL is the issue.

Adams also supported a tweet from a user who expressed worry about media people continuously observing and disparaging players without taking any action. The tweet challenged the idea that everything in the realm of sports media is just “business as business” by emphasizing that players are human people too.
