Breaking: Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Ohio State Buckeyes offensive tackle Enokk Vimahi will find a new home after five seasons in Columbus.

Enokk Vimahi, an Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman, has elected to play his final year of eligibility somewhere else than Columbus.

According to Matt Zenith of 247Sports, Vimahi has declared that he will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal following five seasons with the Buckeyes.

Vimahi, a four-star prospect from Kahuku, Hawaii, was ranked as the No. 8 guard and No. 120 prospect for the 2019 cycle by On3 Industry Rankings. He was also the No. 2 prospect from Hawaii.

The sixth-year senior appeared in 35 games for Columbus over five years, making only two starts, both of which were huge. The 6-4, 310-pound Vimahi started against Michigan in the 2022 defeat and Missouri in the 2023 Cotton Bowl, both losses.

Last season, Vimahi played 100 snaps on the offensive line and 10 on special teams, including 57 in the Cotton Bowl loss. He was not projected to have an impact on the Buckeyes’ starting rotation in 2024.

The Buckeyes have seen a number of athletes enter the portal in April, including running back Dallan Hayden and safety Cedrick Hawkins and Ja’seen Carter.

Hayden has committed to Colorado, and Hawkins will attend UCF next year.

This should not have a significant impact on the Buckeyes’ depth chart.

Vimah was projected as the Buckeyes’ second-string quarterback behind Josh Fryar, implying that third-stringer Toby Wilson will get a shot at the second spot in fall camp, while left lineman Austin Siereveld may also be deployed as a backup.
