Zach Wilson Expresses His Thoughts on the Upcoming Dolphins Game

The New York Jets just played their greatest game of the season.

In the midst of all the clamor and criticism, struggling quarterback Zach Wilson made a significant statement by playing the finest game of his career and acting like he had nothing to lose.

Now, the former No. 2 pick is looking forward to capitalizing on that success against the Miami Dolphins.

“I think it shows us what we can do as an offense,” Wilson said Wednesday, via the Associated Press. “Now that we set the bar there, we’ve got to be able to show we can do it again. I think that’s always the thing is, hey, you did it once, now you’ve got to show us you can do it again.”

Divisional games are always a gamble, so even though the Dolphins should be substantially favored in this one, anything can happen.

Furthermore, Mike McDaniel’s club has a troubling tendency to drop the ball when it matters the most, and with the division and the top seed in the AFC on the line, they could buckle under duress again, like they did against the Tennessee Titans on Monday.

Tyreek Hill is battling with an ankle issue, and facing the Jets’ elite defense on a short week isn’t ideal for him, especially given how much of a hit the Dolphins’ offense suffers when Hill isn’t on the field.

Wilson, on the other hand, must maintain his assertiveness.

He’s shown that he’s at his best when he’s taking risks and playing with confidence, rather than overthinking and remaining in the pocket for as long as he’s done for the majority of his brief career.

He no longer has anything to lose, but he can yet gain another chance to start next season somewhere else.
