Zach Ertz was unable to resist joining the Detroit Lions

Zach Ertz is prepared to help his new squad in any way he can.

Zach Ertz is the formal addition of a veteran tight end with experience in areas that many players on the active roster have never touched, to the Detroit Lions practice squad.

Prior to the team’s NFC Championship Game matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, the Lions added Ertz to the practice squad due to several injuries at the position.

It remains to be seen if Ertz is considered an elevation for Sunday’s game.

Nonetheless, it seems that both parties could gain from the collaboration.

The veteran was seeking the ideal circumstance, and the Lions were able to bolster their roster with a skilled and seasoned addition in a position that needed depth.

The seasoned player expressed assurance that he could quickly become familiar with the nuances of the offense. After spending his playing career in a variety of offensive schemes, Ertz thinks he can provide something constructive to the Lions offense on Sunday.

“I am sure I can mentally catch up quickly; the question is, how much pressure do they want to put on me?” Ertz clarified. “In my eleven years, I have participated in a wide variety of offensive schemes. I am therefore certain that I can take it up mentally, even though at the moment I am only understanding the fundamentals. We will thus observe how Thursday and Friday proceed. Even though there is still a long way to go until the game, I am happy to be here.”

Dan Campbell claimed that the team’s decision to get in touch with him was not influenced by his prior participation in well-known games. Nevertheless, considering the point in the season when he is entering the squad, it has an impact.

Ertz’s seasoned knowledge may still help the younger players grow, even if he is unable to play for the Lions.

Being close to the three-time Pro Bowler could be especially advantageous for rookie tight end Sam LaPorta. Ertz acknowledged that he had watched the rookie from a distance and expressed excitement about providing some improvement.

He is had an incredible rookie season, and even after witnessing his injury and his return to action the next week, you can tell how resilient he is since it appeared much worse than it actually was, Ertz said.
