Yankees’ struggling outfielder is calming the critics

Giancarlo Stanton had a strong start to the 2024 MLB season for the New York Yankees before cooling off, at least until Saturday night.

Stanton went 3-4 against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, hitting a home run and driving in four RBIs, before repeating that performance on Sunday.

Giancarlo Stanton’s hot stretch helps the Yankees continue winning ways

The Yankees won both games. First, Stanton helped the Bronx Bombers defeat Toronto 9-8 before today’s 8-3 rout.

Prior to his explosive performance against Toronto, the former American League MVP had only one hit in his previous four games combined. He appears to be a much healthier and improved version of the Stanton we saw in 2023.

Yankees: Can Stanton keep this level of play up?

The five-time All-Star appears to be more spry and agile after a noticeable bodily alteration during the offseason. The weight loss has allowed him to move more freely between bases and looks to have revived him at the plate.

Before today’s game, the Dominican slugger had a.214/.241/.464 slash line. His numbers are about to improve significantly. His resurgent play is critical for a Yankees team hoping to win the World Series this season.

The Yankees have also had a temporary drought from Aaron Judge, but if both have turned the corner, they can help the red-hot Juan Soto and continue to dominate the AL East in the early part of the season.
