Why Nottingham Forest against Liverpool not on television

Liverpool know they will finish the weekend top of the Premier League table if they defeat relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Reds’ injury-hit side has been in good form in recent weeks, with five consecutive victories and a Carabao Cup trophy to show for last Sunday’s efforts at Wembley.

Liverpool have made potentially difficult games against Luton Town and Brentford appear pretty straightforward, winning both 4-1, and they will be hoping to do the same at the City Ground this Saturday.

Unfortunately for fans of both clubs, the game will not be televised on television or live streamed in the United Kingdom, as was the case with Liverpool’s match against Burnley in early February.

This is because this Saturday’s game, which kicks off at 3pm GMT, comes under the UK’s blackout period, when no games can be televised in order to benefit local and lower league clubs.

Due to the UK blackout, there will be no live coverage of Liverpool’s encounter on Saturday; however, highlights will be available after the game on the Sky Sports and Liverpool FC YouTube sites, as well as BBC One’s encounter of the Day at 10:30pm.

The game is also broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Outside of the United Kingdom, the match will be broadcast worldwide, with fuboTV holding the rights in Canada and Peacock broadcasting in the United States.

DAZN and Viaplay are two of the dozens of outlets broadcasting the action around Europe, while viewers in South America may watch on Star+.
