While Camara approaches a comeback, an Ipswich loanee captains Orient to another victory

Ross Halls examines how the loaned players from Ipswich Town performed for their clubs this past weekend.

IDRIS EL MIZOUNI

Leyton Orient defeated Carlisle United 1-0 in League One thanks to the Tunisian midfielder, who captained the team and played the full 90 minutes.

While former Town striker Joe Pigott, whose through ball found Ruel Sotiriou, who scored the game’s winning goal, won the O’s back-to-back victories in the league, El Mizouni hit the crossbar and received a booking.

PANUTCHE CAMARA

The midfielder, who suffered a foot injury in the middle of August, is getting closer to playing again for Charlton Athletic. This past weekend’s Addicks match was postponed due to international call-ups.

Michael Appleton, the head coach of Charlton, stated: “All things considered, he should hopefully be with the group next week at some stage as long as there are no significant concerns this week with the lads (in the sports science department) who have been on the grass with him doing some ballwork.

“He is proven at this level. Having faced him as an opposition manager, I am aware of his potential. It’s not like I have to finish my work on Pan in any way. I know what he is about. He will be a major asset to us once he is fit and raring to go.”

GASSAN AHADME

The attacker was a 71st-minute substitution for Cambridge United in their 1-1 Abbey Stadium draw with Shrewsbury.

Fejiri Okenabirhie was substituted by Ahadme with the score at 1-0 after Michael Morrison scored Cambridge’s first goal in more than 16 years, but Taylor Perry smashed home an equalizer in the 88th minute to give the Shrews a point.

NICK HAYES

When Southend United fell 2-0 at Yeovil Town, they were eliminated from the FA Cup, and the goalkeeper played the entire 90 minutes for them.

Hayes was making his second appearance for the Shrimpers after making his debut last week against Woking and keeping a clean sheet.

DANNY CULLUM

While representing Bury Town in the Isthmian League North Division, the young goalie played the entire ninety minutes as they were soundly defeated 6-1 against Heybridge Swifts.

Cemal Ramadan, a former Town academy player, scored the lone goal for Cole Skuse’s team, who now lie in 12th place in the standings after their first loss in seven games across all competitions.

FORMER BLUES CORNER

Blackpool defeated Stevenage 3-0 at Bloomfield Road in League One thanks to Jordan Rhodes’ ninth goal of the campaign for the team.

Gillingham scored a goal, but they were defeated 4-1 by Walsall in League Two. The search for a new manager has begun since Neil Harris’ dismissal last week.

Chelmsford City forced a replay by drawing 2-2 with Whitby Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to an Anthony Wordsworth goal.

Andros Townsend, a former loanee who was released by Everton this summer, has signed a contract with Premier League club Luton Town through January.

Throughout his 16 games and one goal for Town in 2010, he was on loan.
