What the Colts depth chart looks like before the 2024 NFL Draft

The Indianapolis Colts are only a few weeks away from the 2024 NFL Draft, and they are hoping to add some talent to their depth chart.

After a very quiet free agency, which includes signing the majority of their key in-house players, the Colts will return to a fairly similar roster before the draft.

This offseason, the depth chart underwent a few adjustments as a result of the addition of two outside free agents and the departure of several players.

Here’s a look at the Colts’ offensive and defensive depth charts as they prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft:

Colts Offensive Depth Chart

Position First Second Third
QB Anthony Richardson Joe Flacco Sam Ehlinger
RB Jonathan Taylor Trey Sermon Evan Hull
Tyler Goodson
WR Michael Pittman Jr. DJ Montgomery
WR Alec Pierce Ashton Dulin Juwann Winfree
Slot WR Josh Downs
TE Mo Alie-Cox Jelani Woods Andrew Ogletree
TE Kylen Granson Will Mallory
LT Bernhard Raimann Jake Witt
LG Quenton Nelson
C Ryan Kelly Danny Pinter Wesley French
Jack Anderson
RG Will Fries Josh Sills
RT Braden Smith Blake Freeland

Notes

  • Joe Flacco will work as the backup to Anthony Richardson, who is working his way back from shoulder surgery.
  • There is a need to add some depth behind Jonathan Taylor in the backfield, but there’s a chance Trey Sermon and Evan Hull are competing for that role.
  • It is expected that the Colts will use an early pick at wide receiver in the draft. When that will be and what type of receiver they bring in remain mysteries.

Colts Defensive Depth Chart

Position First Second Third
DE Kwity Paye Tyquan Lewis Genard Avery
1-Tech DT Grover Stewart Raekwon Davis Eric Johnson
3-Tech DT DeForest Buckner Taven Bryan Adetomiwa Adebawore
DE Samson Ebukam Dayo Odeyingbo Titus Leo

SAM Ronnie Harrison Isaiah Land
CB Julius Brents Darrell Baker Jr. Ameer Speed
CB Dallis Flowers Jaylon Jones
Slot CB Kenny Moore II Chris Lammons
FS Nick Cross Rodney Thomas Daniel Scott
SS Julian Blackmon Trevor Denbow

Notes

  • This unit will look very similar to what they put on the field last year.
  • Expect an early pick—likely No. 15—to be used at cornerback in the draft. Though the return of Dallis Flowers from an Achilles injury adds more competition to room already.
  • The safety position could use more depth, especially behind Julian Blackmon, who was re-signed on a one-year deal.
  • Don’t be surprised if the Colts continue to add to the trenches late on Day 2 or early on Day 3, especially if they trade back and acquire more picks.
