“I went to him because, in situations like those, all you need is someone to talk to in order to regain your energy. I went to him after I was overjoyed and told him, “I knew you were going to score, I’m not surprised.”

Fatawu made a unique contribution to the game. Following his introduction ten minutes into the second half alongside Vardy, the Ghanaian gave City even more attacking potential as they applied pressure to Watford’s full-back.

The City players gave Fatawu the ball whenever they could because they knew he would make the difference. According to the youth, he still has more to offer.

“We had to win this game,” he continued. “We were thinking going into the game that we might have to adjust a few things. It all comes down to the manager’s bravery and the way he organizes the team. I’m improving personally, and I’m sure there’s more to come.”
