West Ham United have given reaction to finally pulling off signing

West Ham United have reacted to finally completing the signing of Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme.

West Ham United’s Tim Steidten worked hard to complete this deal for the Brazilian, and the Hammers now have their man.

We earlier claimed that West Ham had pulled the brakes on the deal due to the club’s owner, David Sullivan, terminating the agreement due to the cost associated with signing the Brazilian.

However, just ten days later, the East London team completed a transaction for £20 million, which is £10 million less than the South American club’s stated asking.

Club’s delight in pulling off deal

Steidten, who has already stated that he was instrumental in bringing this agreement to fruition, expressed his excitement following the deal’s official announcement.

“We are really happy that Luis Guilherme is now a West Ham United player,” Steidten remarked. “He is a very exciting young talent who we have been following for some time, and when we found out he was available, Julen and I were determined to bring him to London.”

“Luis has had a terrific start to his professional career with Palmeiras – a natural wide player with the ability to play in a variety of attacking positions, which is an important and valuable component in today’s game.

“He is technically very gifted, but also has very good physical qualities – great pace, strength and stamina, and these are traits that will help him to adapt to the demands of the Premier League and English football.”

Guilherme struggles

The transaction was obviously not easy for the Hammers to complete. Steidten was responsible for resurrecting the transfer after Sullivan had originally canceled it.

According to HITC, the final sum will be around £20 million plus add-ons, which is a fantastic deal for a player widely regarded as a wonderful potential.

Fans of the Hammers will be hopeful that the Brazilian can live up to expectations under Julen Lopetegui.
