Chelsea appears to be causing problems for West Ham United’s summer transfer window.

Both West Ham and Chelsea need to significantly bolster their respective teams during the summer transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten are said to be working tirelessly to complete at least six new acquisitions before the start of the season.

In fact, Steidten is presently in his native Germany exploring prospective new additions to EURO 2024.

This summer, we intend to strengthen every position. That may not be achievable, however, given Lopetegui’s estimated budget of roughly £90 million, excluding player sales.

So the Spaniard will have to decide which positions require the most urgent attention during the summer window.

We are definitely short on the left wing department right now. West Ham do not have a right-footed left winger, which needs to change this summer.

However, we could face an impossible task with Chelsea zoning in on a key Lopetegui transfer target…

Chelsea cause West Ham a big summer transfer window problem

It appears that the Hammers are in for a tough battle this summer.

That’s because new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is considering a £51 million bid for a hotshot attacker.

According to Calcio Mercato, Chelsea and Liverpool are preparing to make an offer of around £51 million for Ademola Lookman this summer.

That revelation is a blow to West Ham, as it has been reported that Lopetgui wants to bring the 26-year-old Atalanta star to the London Stadium.

The Hammers fans will remember him best for his missed ‘Panenka’ penalty against us at the London Stadium in 2020.

Lookman is an incredible talent, and I would love to see him at West Ham. He demonstrated his undoubted talent by scoring a sensational hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last month.

The right-footed left winger has had the best season of his career with Atalanta, scoring 32 goals and assisting 18 times in 78 games.

The Mirror described the forward as ‘unplayable’ due to his scorching pace and superb movement.

Ademola Lookman would complete West Ham’s striking lineup, but it appears like Lopetegui will be unable to sign him during the summer transfer window, with Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly set to make a move for the former Charlton player.
