West Ham poised to extend outcast’s contract – Hammers only want a price, not the player

Nathan Trott has only appeared once for West Ham United, in an FA Cup fixture against Doncaster Rovers in January 2021.

West Ham signed the goalkeeper for their academy in 2016, but a lack of opportunities in the first squad forced him to move out on loan. He has been on loan with Vejle Boldklub since 2022.

Trott has preserved six clean sheets and conceded 32 goals in 27 appearances for the Danish club this season, and his performances have not gone unnoticed.

According to Tipsbladet, the West Ham player has attracted ‘concrete interest’ from many Danish clubs, as well as a few other overseas clubs.

The 25-year-old’s contract with the London club expires at the end of this season, and the source says it would be a ‘dream’ for interested clubs to sign him on a free transfer during the summer window. This will not be an easy undertaking.
Earlier this year, the stopper disclosed that the Premier League club had the option to extend his contract for two more years.

Tipsbladet now claims that ‘everything points to’ West Ham utilizing that option to assist them collect a fee. There is no deadline, and the Hammers have until the end of June to extend Trott’s deal to 2026.

In summary, West Ham control Trott’s future and expect a fee.
