Wayne Rooney discloses that Leicester City have…..

Wayne Rooney says Leicester City have a “significant advantage” over the majority of their Championship competitors due to their recent relegation from the Premier League.

Leicester City, who play Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on Monday, lead the Championship after winning 17 of their 21 games this season. Leeds United and Southampton, the other two teams relegated from the Premier League, are currently third and fourth, respectively.

Leicester manager Enzo Maresca will have a midfield trio of Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to choose from. They also have a plethora of Premier League experience in both defense and attack.

“You will always have an advantage in the Championship if you’re a team that’s come down from the Premier League, that’s normal,” remarked Wayne Rooney. “It’s no coincidence that Leicester are where they are, Southampton are where they are, and Leeds are right there with them.”

“You have a significant advantage based solely on the salaries of the players.” The stronger the players, the stronger the team. It’s critical for us to understand that they have a lot of expertise and quality on the team, and how we can negate that and focus on attacking their weaknesses.”

Due to the Blues’ devastating injury list, Rooney may be unable to change his starting lineup from the 1-0 win over Cardiff. Oliver Burke, on loan from Werder Bremen, was one of eight senior players who were absent in midweek.

“We’ll see how the players recover,” Rooney continued. We saw snippets of Leicester before the Cardiff game to prepare. We’ll do all in our power to win the game.

“Leicester are an incredible team.” They can make it quite difficult for you, so we know we’re in for a battle.”
