Wayne Rooney announces a significant injury boost for Birmingham City prior to Middlesbrough

Ethan Laird, a full-back for Birmingham City, has accelerated his recuperation from an injury, according to Wayne Rooney.

Summertime acquisition Laird suffered a hamstring injury during the win over Bristol City, which has kept him out of action for two months.

Since the 22-year-old has been absent for a longer period of time than anticipated, Cody Drameh has solidified his starting position at right back.

However, Rooney, who will be in charge of Laird’s first game, which is on Saturday against Middlesbrough, says he is now close to making a comeback.

Although Laird isn’t anticipated to make the journey to the Riverside, he might be back in the mix for Championship action in the near future.

Rooney gave a quick update on the injured Blues players, saying, “Ethan Laird is the only one who is really close to coming back.” He is making an effort to return within the next week, having been on the field yesterday. He’s a tremendous player, so it will be excellent for us.

Lee Buchanan (ankle), George Hall (hamstring), Keshi Anderson (hamstring), Tyler Roberts (calf) and Alfie Chang (knee) are all currently unavailable to Rooney.

Buchanan, a key defender, twisted his ankle during training three weeks ago, but at least he’s not wearing a protective boot anymore.

Rooney continued, “Nothing has really changed.” “That wasn’t me; I’m not sure what messages you received the last time.”
