Watch: Colts GM Laughs in War Room While Taking Edge

The Indianapolis Colts selected edge rusher Laiatu Latu in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, which left general manager Chris Ballard experiencing mixed emotions.

The 2024 NFL Draft has come and gone, which means there are many different topics to debate following the biggest weekend of the year.

The first round was fascinating. For the first time, the top ten and fourteen picks were all offensive players. It was a record to have that many offensive players selected to begin the NFL Draft. The Indianapolis Colts were the first team to pick a defensive player.

Chris Ballard, the NFL’s general manager, prioritizes athletes in the draft. Historically, the better you are as an athlete, the better your chances of being successful in the NFL. He did take UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu with the 15th choice, but one of his major criticisms is that he is not an outstanding athlete.

That didn’t stop Ballard, who laughingly claimed that “We got hte best ******* rusher in the draft.”

Moments like these are one of the best parts of the NFL Draft and the Colts certainly are excited about having Latu on the roster.
