Vincent Kompany’s candid assessment of Burnley Football Club’s challenging Premier League debut

Vincent Kompany, the manager of Burnley, has provided an honest assessment of both the team’s and his own situation following a challenging Premier League debut.

Before the international break, Kompany talked about whether he was still having fun as the Turf Moor hotseat player.

He acknowledged, “I didn’t sign up for the job just to win the league with 101 points.”

“As I mentioned in my very first interview, very few people who join up to be managers ever succeed. Like me, he’s bald, and it’s generally the same guy.

“You have to remember that not many managers receive awards, therefore you have to work because you enjoy what you do.

Getting outcomes and improving your team are two aspects of it.

Even in the toughest of times, people teach you so much about them. It has such value.

People make the error of closing their eyes when things are difficult because they no longer wish to look. However, that’s the point at which you apply your knowledge to strengthen your fortitude and resilience, which elevates you to a new level.

“I will never, ever allow myself to be pulled into an issue where I fail to consider the background of our league and our current position.

“We want to be in this league and outpunch everyone, but there’s no way there won’t be challenges along the way. We thus maintain our composure and work long hours.

When asked if he and chairman Alan Pace remained in agreement, Kompany answered with the same candor.

“As I always say, there is a lot of communication in the club. The players to the coaches, the players to the chairman, and so on and so forth. Everybody communicates a lot, he continued.

You should ask the chairperson, not me, any queries about his or her opinions. We’ve always had a clear idea of what we want and have never placed unreasonable demands.

“While it’s a wish, it’s not an impractical scenario that doesn’t require us to be fully aware of; we planned for every eventuality, so that should give us some consolation in terms of continuing to work hard and improve what we need to improve.”
