Vincent Kompany is certain that Burnley will ultimately be rewarded for their displays

After Burnley lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace at Turf Moor to begin the season with a top-flight record sixth straight home loss, Vincent Kompany insisted that Burnley was not receiving the credit for their efforts.

After Jordan Beyer’s error in the 22nd minute, Jeffrey Schlupp gave Palace the lead. Burnley controlled the ball and had 16 shots to Palace’s four, but were unable to equalize until Tyrick Mitchell increased the visitors’ lead in stoppage time.

After having played a third of their home games without receiving a point, Burnley’s defeat moves them off the bottom of the table only on goal differential.

Burnley lost eight home games during the 2021–22 season, when they were relegated, but they may accomplish same feat this time around before Christmas.

It’s difficult because, while you want to point out the facts and admit that we made a mistake, you also don’t want the players to lose faith in themselves, Kompany added.

“They’ve put in a lot of effort in every game, including yesterday, and behind the scenes; they’re receiving recognition for it, but you’ll just need to keep going if you want to reap the benefits of victory.”

When asked how concerned he was about the home record, Kompany stated that Turf Moor was not the only issue facing his team.

He declared, “It’s away and home form when you have four points.” “I can’t go declare we have amazing away form just because we have four points. Hard work.

“As I’ve already stated, we cannot suddenly assume that a home game would be simple, even though the performance was strong and the outcome was unsatisfactory.

“I refuse to stray and devote myself to anything but ensuring that we remain on course and prepared to maximize the performance of our team.”

The Kompany side dominated the Championship with their possession-based aggressive style, winning just once at Turf Moor on their way to promotion the previous season.

It would be an understatement to say that translating it into the Premier League has been challenging, but Kompany is certain that his team can make a difference.

He declared, “It’s not my style to get knocked off the ball.” As a manager, you must have a concept, whatever it may be. Anybody who suggests that style is the answer is a moron.

“Effective coaching is the answer. Better players are the answer. Not that we need better players; rather, it’s about players improving or having the best players. These provide the basis.

Having sound financial standing can occasionally help with some of those. More than anything else, they serve as the cornerstone for determining results.

Burnley may not be getting the desired results, but Palace manager Roy Hodgson was pleased with his team’s effort and supported Kompany to win.

“I can tell you right now that not many teams will leave here with three points if Burnley keeps playing the way they are,” he said.

We must be happy with our self-control, tenacity, and efforts because they helped us win the three points.

“We’ll return to London with joy, and Burnley will undoubtedly be disappointed that they didn’t achieve more from their performance, but if they keep up their current form, they will.”
