Vincent Kompany discusses the challenge before Burnley at AFC Bournemouth

As he gets ready for this weekend’s crucial match at Vitality Stadium, BURNLEY manager Vincent Kompany says he “can see why it’s tough for Bournemouth.”

With just one victory in 18 games, both teams have had a sluggish start to the Premier League season.

However, a win could move any team out of the relegation zone by Saturday night.

When asked how he views the challenge posed by Cherries following their summer acquisition of Andoni Iraola to take Gary O’Neil’s place, Kompany responded, “It’s two different managers, so there’s going to be differences because of that.”

“I understand why it’s difficult for Bournemouth, just as I understand why it’s difficult for us.”

“However, I believe that we all share the same goal of reaching the next level and establishing ourselves as a respectable, powerful Premier League team.”

But it happens gradually. I believe that we are currently facing a comparable struggle and circumstance, but that is just the nature of this league.

Last season, Kompany won at Vitality Stadium when his Championship Clarets eliminated Cherries from the FA Cup in January with a commanding 4-2 victory.

When asked if he could use any momentum from the victory for this coming weekend, Kompany responded, “I don’t know how much, but they’ve spent £150 million or £200 million since, so there are a few new faces there as well!

For me, the most important thing is to always believe in yourself, no matter what.

“The game away to Bournemouth will be difficult. No game in this league is going to be simple.

Connor Roberts, Burnley’s full-back, will not play after receiving a red card in their 3-0 loss to Brentford last weekend.
