Vikings are expected to announce their starting quarterback on Wednesday

During their bye week, the Minnesota Vikings had a lot of questions that needed to be answered, not the least of which was who would start at the most crucial position in the game.

Even while we don’t yet know the solution, it doesn’t seem like we will have to wait very long to find out.

Vikings OC Wes Phillips said that the plan for the team is to name a starter tomorrow ahead of game against the Raiders. Did say that staff thinks it’s essential to adapt to skillset of personnel down the stretch.

Wes Phillips, the offensive coordinator, stated during today’s news conference that the team will announce the starting lineup tomorrow in order to get ready for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Raiders.

At quarterback, the team presently has three options. Josh Dobbs, who has started the last three games for the Vikings, may appear to have the edge. After Jaren Hall suffered a concussion in the first quarter of his first NFL start, Dobbs—who the Vikings acquired at the trade deadline—stepped in for Hall and helped the team defeat Atlanta and New Orleans. The Vikings have lost their last two games against Denver and Chicago while turning the ball over seven times. The previous two games didn’t go as well. Six of the seven turnovers have been attributed to Dobbs, who has five interceptions and one fumble loss.

Given that the organization trusted Hall enough to give him the keys following Kirk Cousins’ injury and Nick Mullens’ placement on injured reserve, Hall might possibly be a possibility. Before being forced to the sidelines in that game against Atlanta, Hall appeared to have a respectable command of the offense, and the organization may want to give him a look to see if he may be a long-term option.

The Vikings will have Justin Jefferson to throw to once more, regardless of the quarterback they start. For the first time since mid-October, Jefferson, who was placed on injured reserve the same week as Mullens, will be back in the huddle after fully recovering from his hamstring injury. Although the Vikings have gone 5-2 without Jefferson, it will be good to have him back.
