Veteran quarterback signed by the Seahawks to practice squad

Brett Rypien, a seasoned quarterback who was cut by the Rams, joined the Seattle Seahawks practice squad on Friday.

Before the weekend, the Seattle Seahawks moved quickly to sign a quarterback. The Seahawks signed veteran quarterback Brett Rypien to their practice squad on Friday, it was confirmed.

This season, Rypien, who was a member of the Los Angeles Rams, is joining another NFC West team.

The news was broken by Adam Schefter, an ESPN NFL insider.

“Remaining in the NFC West: Brett Rypien, quarterback, was added by the Seahawks to their practice squad on Friday,” Schefter wrote. The post was published on X, the website that was formerly known as Twitter, by the well-known insider.

According to Schefter, Rypien will be joining a quarterback room that already includes starter quarterback Geno Smith and quarterback Drew Lock.

Rypien joined the Denver Broncos upon entering the league in 2019. After Rypien failed to be selected in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Boise State quarterbacks, the Broncos added him to their practice squad. Since 2019, the Rams have been his third team.

Rypien excelled while attending Boise State University. He was given the Mountain West Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 after winning the conference’s Freshman of the Year honor in 2015. He was chosen three times to the All-MLB World Cup First Team: in 2015, 2016 and 2018. In 2017, Rypien joined the Second Team.

Although Rypien seeing the field is highly doubtful, anything can happen in the NFL. Sadly, a swell of injuries is just a few tackles away. For that reason, it makes perfect sense that the Seahawks signed him.
