Update: Colts could have the chance to steal the latter from reigning Super Bowl champions

The Indianapolis Colts may be able to acquire Chris Jones and L’Jarius Sneed this offseason, as the Kansas City Chiefs face a difficult decision.

Sure enough, it won’t be easy or cheap.

L’Jarius Sneed To Indianapolis Colts?

The Colts concluded the 2023 season with a defense rating in the bottom ten. They have an adequate passing defense, but their rushing defense is far from ideal. Overall, Indianapolis could use a lift on that front.

Having said that, Sneed could be an excellent fit for them. The 27-year-old is one of the top cornerbacks expected to enter the market, and a Colts club with postseason aspirations will certainly benefit from having a proven winner on the field.

Sneed can still improve his game and prevent penalties, but his aggressive mentality makes him a nuisance for opponents.

CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin advocated pursuing Sneed in his “free agency mock draft,” noting the need for Indianapolis to “inject some proven playmaking” in their secondary. This is what he wrote:

“With Chris Jones expected to cost the Chiefs a lot of money, Sneed is likely to enter the market. Meanwhile, the Colts are anxious to add some experienced playmaking to their secondary, making him the team’s top cover man.

If Sneed becomes available, the Colts will not be the only team interested in him. Sneed is a two-time Super Bowl champion who has demonstrated his ability to deliver when it counts the most. Other contestants would not pass up the opportunity to chase him.
