‘Unless he’s just being stubborn’… Mike Florio blasts Chiefs star for Super Bowl ring statement

The Kansas City Chiefs championship ring was created with an error in the classification of one of the teams.

During the ceremony to hand away the ornament, which virtually represents an individual “trophy” to each person in the organisation, a fault in the engraving was discovered.

In truth, the Miami Dolphins, who finished sixth in the AFC, are inscribed on the ring as the conference’s sixth-placed team.

The franchise spent a lot of money, perhaps $40,000, on creating all of the accessories.

Travis Kelce didn’t give a damn about the mistake

So yet, only Travis Kelce has spoken out about the mistake in the adornment. On his New Heights podcast, the tight end stated that he does not care.

“I don’t give a f___,” he declared without hesitation. “Just makes it more exclusive. We made a mistake concerning something insignificant.”

Even still, Kelce’s most recent Super Bowl ring isn’t his favorite.

“This one’s pretty damn cool,” he said. “When I look at it, it reminds me of a championship ring. But I’d probably say the one from previous year is my favorite.”

Mike Florio doesn’t believe Kelce is being sincere

Mike Florio of NFL on NBC shared his honest assessment on what transpired with the ornament and then responded to Travis Kelce’s statement.

First, he was caustic, stating that it’s the kind of error anyone would want to make, given that it represents success in one of the world’s most important athletic events: “The ultimate first world problem is there’s a typo on the inside of my Super Bowl ring.”

“We’d all love to have that problem; we’d swap places with Travis Kelce in an instant.” Still, the entire situation is terrible for the chiefs.”

Then he became more serious about it being a mistake that couldn’t have gone unnoticed by those in charge of ensuring that everything was in order: “Whoever’s fingerprints were on that, it eventually flows up to the owner, but before the owner looks at it, the owner approves everything with the ring; that’s the general approach. There are other individuals who have a say in it, and I would expect numerous pairs of eyes to review it.”

Florio voiced his opinion and felt the error embarrassing.

“To make a mistake like that on a Super Bowl ring is likely unprecedented and quite embarrassing. It does not negate the fact that they won the Super Bowl, but they messed up the ring.”

The show’s host reacted negatively to Travis’ speech.

“It is what it is, and Travis Kelce claims he does not care. I wonder how much of it is him convincing himself that he doesn’t care since if he could keep the seven with the wrong seed or the six with the correct seed, he’d almost certainly choose the six, unless he’s just being stubborn.”
