Transfer Update: Burnley will act to reduce interest in the star from Wolves and West Ham

Josh Browhill, a target for Wolves and West Ham United, has a contract option that Burnley plans to exercise for an additional year, as reported by talkSPORT.

Brownhill signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Burnley in the winter of 2020 after leaving Bristol City, with the option to extend.

The 27-year-old midfielder made frequent appearances for Burnley in the last campaign, helping them regain their Premier League status with seven goals and eight assists in 41 games.

Several Premier League teams, including Wolves and West Ham, have expressed interest in Brownhill despite Burnley’s dismal start to the season.

The midfield player’s contract is set to expire at the end of June 2024, and West Ham and Wolves are keeping a close eye on him.

According to rumors, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany wants to keep Brownhill on staff, and the Clarets are going to activate his contract extension for another year.

This season, Brownhill has been a consistent player for Burnley and has led the team on multiple occasions.

It’s unclear if the midfielder, who has grown to be a fan favorite at Turf Moor, will be able to keep Burnley in the Premier League this year.

If the extension is activated, all eyes will be on whether Wolves and West Ham cool their heels.
