NOV 12 COTTRELL TO PORTAL Just a few hours after it was announced that Texas A&M Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher would no longer be leading the program from the sidelines, the transfer portal was once again opened up — and not in a good way.
Aggies freshman receiver Raymond Cottrell was the first to make his decision, entering the portal on Sunday.
“In the realm of collegiate athletics, where opportunities for growth and success abound, I have made the decision to embark on a new chapter in my journey by hitting the transfer portal,” Cottrell announced via X, formerly known as Twitter. “The choice is not one taken lightly, but God has a plan for me and I can’t wait to see what He has for me.”
MAY 9 – AGGIES GET A NEW RUNNING BACK
Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher announced on Monday that former Boston College and Colorado State running back David Bailey had entered the transfer portal and his intent is to play for the Aggies. The 6-0, 225-pound Bailey was a three-star recruit for the class of 2018 out of Ridgely, Maryland, and signed under then Eagles head coach and current Texas A&M offensive line coach Steve Addazio.
MAY 7 – NEW QB COMMIT
The Texas A&M Aggies landed a big time commitment via the NCAA Transfer Portal on Sunday, with Fresno State quarterback Jaylen Henderson committing to the program.
Henderson’s commitment does come as a bit of a surprise for the Aggies, with future QB Conner Weigman entering his second season under center, and LSU transfer Max Johnson still on the roster.
A former three-star recruit in the 2021 cycle, Henderson committed to the Bulldogs over offers from Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Louisville, Boise State, and others.
Henderson only attempted eight passes in 2021 with Fresno State, completing five of those passes for 49 yards, and rushing 14 times for 68 yards. In 2022, Henerson played in two games, rushing two times for minus-two yards.
MAY 4 – NEW WR TARGET
The Texas A&M Aggies have been in contact with Colorado wide receiver Target Jordyn Tyson, according to reports.
Last season with the Buffaloes, Tyson had 22 catches for 470 yards and four scores.
The Texas native was a three-star recruit coming out of high school as a member of the 2022 class.
MAY 2 – WYKOFF COMMITS
Former Texas A&M Aggies offensive lineman Matthew Wykoff entered the Transfer Portal last month and has now found a new home with the Cal Bears.
Wykoff was an SEC All-Freshman selection for the Aggies last season, playing in 12 games with nine starts.
APRIL 20 – DAVIS IN
The Texas A&M Aggies landed a big commitment on Thursday evening, with Jackson State linebacker Jurriente Davis pledging to the program.
Last season with Jackson State, Davis had 68 tackles, three sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss, two pass break ups and two fumble recoveries.
He should figure into the linebacker rotation immediately.
APR 18 – TAYLOR OUT
Another Texas A&M Aggies 2022 recruit has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. And this time, it was one of the architects of the entire class.
On Tuesday afternoon, Aggies defensive back Bobby Taylor announced his entry into the portal after just one season in College Station. However, according to an Instagram story from Taylor, it appears that he did not enter on his own volition.
“And don’t think I wanted to leave,” Taylor put on his story.
Taylor will have four years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
APR 12 – WYKOFF OUT
Texas A&M offensive lineman Matthew Wykoff has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Wednesday, he announced.
“I will be entering my name into the transfer portal,” Wykoff tweeted. “I am thankful for my time at A&M and the coaching I have received. I will have 3 years of eligibility left.”
Wykoff was an SEC All-Freshman selection for the Aggies last season, playing in 12 games with nine starts.
MAR 2 – BRYANT HEADING TO C-STAT
The Texas A&M Aggies are in need of some help at the skill positions, and former USC wide receiver Gary Bryant might be the answer.
According to reports, Bryant is set to take a visit to College Station on March 24. He will also visit Oregon on March 16.
Bryant, who was a top-10 receiver and a four-star recruit in the 2020 class, originally picked the Trojans over Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, and others.
He entered the portal on January 10.
In three seasons, Bryant has 53 catches for 645 yards and seven touchdowns, 579 yards and seven touchdowns of which came in 2021.
He has played in 18 games for the Trojans, but played in just three in 2022, giving him two years of eligibility remaining.
Bryant will announce his final destination at the end of the month.
FEB 2 – DEMAS GOES JUCO
Former Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver Demond Demas, who left the program due to disciplinary reasons, has now found a new home, signing at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas.
Demas sat out the entire 2022 season.
Demas was released from Brazos County Jail on bond following his arrest. His attorney, Tony Buzbee, released a statement on the incident, stating he would do everything to clear his name at a later date.
Since his arrival in College Station, Demas has dealt with his fair share of off-the-field concerns.
In 2020, he was accused of hitting a woman who was stated to be his girlfriend. Demas also was arrested for possession of marijuana in March of 2021 during a traffic stop, a misdemeanor charge.
Last season as a redshirt freshman, Demas played in 10 games and made six starts before suffering a season-ending leg injury. He recorded 15 catches for 235 yards and a touchdown.
JAN 23 – AGGIES TOP 5 FOR JUCO
The Texas A&M Aggies have found themselves in the top group for elite Juco WR Marquis Montgomery.
Montgomery also had Oregon, Cal, Penn state and LSU on his list
JAN 16 – SMITH TO OU
Former Aggies tight end Blake Smith, who entered the transfer portal after three years in College Station, has found a new home, committing to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Smith will have multiple years of eligibility remaining, playing in just two games over the last two seasons.
Smith is a former three-star recruit and originally picked the Aggies over Alabama, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska, TCU, Florida State, and Miami, among many other offers.
JAN 15 – BROWN TO TULANE
Former Texas A&M wide receiver Yulkeith Brown has committed to the Tulane Green Wave, according to reports.
Brown entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in December.
A former four-star recruit, Brown had 6 receptions for 112 yards and a TD last season.
JAN 13 – SMOKE TO GEORGIA
Former Texas A&M freshman defensive back Deyon ‘Smoke’ Bouie has transferred to the Georgia Bulldogs, just one year after signing with the Aggies.
Bouie visited the Bulldogs in December after originally entering the portal.
Georgia nearly landed Bouie out of high school, but the Aggies ultimately won out on his signature.
Bouie leaves College Station playing in four games for the Aggies, making four tackles with one pass defended
JAN 11 – BRYANT TO VISIT AGGIES
Another USC Trojan is looking at the Aggies via the NCAA Transfer Portal. This time, it is former four-star wide receiver Gary Bryant, who will reportedly visit College Station in the coming weeks.

We’re still trying to work out the details on the A&M visit in terms of if we can fly directly from Miami or if we have to come home first but that trip is going to happen.”

JAN 11 – LUCAS LANDS IN LA
Now former Texas A&M Aggies defensive lineman Anthony Lucas, who entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Jan 3, has found a new home, committing to the USC Trojans on Wednesday.
Lucas was the sixth member of the historic 2022 class to enter the portal, and the 26th Aggie overall to leave the program.
A former 5-star recruit, Lucas played in five games for the Aggies in 2022, making 10 tackles.
JAN 10 – Williams Considering Aggies
Former USC wide receiver C.J. Williams is looking for a new home after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, and Texas A&M is on the list.
“I’m talking with Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Georgia and UCLA, “ Williams told 247Sports. “I’ve talked with Notre Dame about visiting this weekend and that’s a possibility.
Williams is also considering Wisconsin and West Virginia, alongside the Aggies, Notre Dame, UCLA, and the two-time champion Georgia Bulldogs.
That said, he is intrigued by what the Aggies have to offer, and has a good relationship with Texas A&M wide receivers coach, James Coley.
“Coach Coley actually offered me when he was at Georgia, that was one of my first offers when I was a sophomore. He always told me I was an SEC guy and told me he would love line me up next to Evan Stewart and we could complement each other really well.”
JAN 3 – Anthony Lucas Leaves Aggies
Yet another top recruit from the 2022 class has decided to leave Texas A&M, with former five-star Anthony Lucas entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Lucas is now the sixth member of the historic 2022 class to enter the portal, and the 26th Aggie overall to leave the program.
“I want to thank Coach Fisher and his staff for the opportunity to play at TAMU. Thank you to my professors and academic staff for providing me all the support to succeed as a student-athlete.
