Ipswich Town will have a new manager in the Premier League next season after Liverpool announced the hiring of Arne Slot.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s iconic manager, announced his departure at the end of the season, with the club finishing third.

During his eight-and-a-half-year tenure at the club, the German won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the Carabao Cup, helping to reestablish his team as a European football powerhouse.

His departure surprised many, but with links to Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim, the Reds made a move for Slot, who won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord in 2022/23.

During his three-year reign at Rotterdam, the Dutchman won the KNVB Cup and advanced to the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League before leaving to take over at Liverpool after openly revealing he was in talks for the position.

Klopp informally announced the deal during his final game as manager against Wolves, yelling Slot’s name in front of the crowd at Anfield to the tune ‘Live is Life’ by Opus.

He will begin his management career at Liverpool on June 1st and will play Ipswich for the first time next season. Premier League fixtures will be announced on June 18th.
