Town star ready to leave

Elkan Baggott is scheduled to join Bristol Rovers on loan.

Elkan Baggott, an Ipswich Town defender, is scheduled to join League One team Bristol Rovers on loan until the end of the season.

Baggott, 21, is an academy graduate who has made seven senior appearances for the Blues, five of which were in cup competitions.

During the first half of last season, he played extensively on loan at Gillingham in League Two. However, after a mid-season swap to Cheltenham, he only appeared once.

Having recently returned from Asian Cup action with Indonesia, he will join Bristol Rovers, who are now 11th in the third division.

Baggott will be managed by Matt Taylor, who formerly led Exeter and Rotherham United.
