Town defender is selected for an important qualification match for his nation

Janoi Donacien of Ipswich Town has been called up to the Saint Lucia team in preparation for their forthcoming international matches.

Stern John’s team currently leads its CONCACAF Nations League group on goal differential, but they must keep that lead in order to advance to the tournament’s knockout rounds.

They will play Guadaloupe, who is in second position, twice: once at home on Friday, October 13, and once in Saint-Anne on Sunday, October 15.

Donacien, who made his debut in a 3-1 loss to Martinique in Florida back in June, is vying for his second and third international caps.

The adaptable defender has only appeared in three games so far this campaign after suffering a groin injury in a 1-0 victory against QPR away from home at the end of August. A month later, he rejoined the Blues’ team, although he hasn’t played since.
