Town bid has terrific star uncomfortable, says head coach

Johnnie Jackson, the manager of AFC Wimbledon, has acknowledged that Ipswich Town is interested in signing Ali Al-Hamadi and that the move is “head-turning” for the striker.

Earlier this week, the EADT and Ipswich Star exclusively disclosed that the Blues were attempting to work out a deal for the League Two sensation.

The 21-year-old, who is now representing Iraq at the Asian Cup, is supposedly worth more than £1 million to Ipswich, while the Dons are purportedly want more than £2 million.

Following his team’s 2-1 victory over Mansfield at home this afternoon, Jackson told the South London Press, “There has definitely been great interest in Ali.”

Because he is away in Iraq, it is challenging to navigate.

“A guy like him will get attention when he performs at that level. It is evidently head-turning for the boy when a club like Ipswich comes in.

It is something we will need to deal with in the upcoming days. As the league’s finest striker, I have always wanted to keep him.

But clubs that can give you money that can change your life come calling when you have the top striker in the league. When it comes to the boy, that completely alters the scene.

“I would like that you put together the team by the end of August and stay with it until the end of the season.”

“Are not we the ones being pursued? Because of where we are, we are not the hunters. Unfortunately, because of the competitive nature of sport, many clubs want to sign a player with an asset like that.

Deals are made between clubs; one thing does not suffice. Let us wait and see how things work out in the next few days.

“A team at the top of the Championship who might be moving up the Premier League is going to be a head-turner when a team like that comes in and are doing what they are doing – and can offer you the opportunity to play at a certain level.”

Before Thursday’s 11 p.m. deadline, Blues manager Kieran McKenna was questioned about his striker search after this afternoon’s 2-1 FA Cup loss to Maidstone United.

To be fair, we want a couple, he answered.”We had to add in that area nonetheless because we had lost bodies during the transfer window.

“That remains the goal, and we remain optimistic.” I have mentioned it a lot: January is a difficult month. Although there are restrictions on what we may access, our club will work hard over the next few days to overcome those constraints.
