Top EDGE target has committed to Georgia

During the spring game, the Bulldogs added a key piece to their 2025 class.

For the second year in a row, Georgia is feasting on the Garden State.

The Bulldogs have added Darren Ikinnagbon to their 2025 class, making him the top recruit in New Jersey for the second year in a row. Ikinnagbon told Dawgs247 that he committed to Georgia on Saturday at the spring game.

“The coaching staff is a family. “The environment over there is nice,” Ikinnagbon told Dawgs247 earlier this spring. “There’s a drive to win. “Everything they do down there is for the win.”

This was Ikinnagbon’s second trip to Georgia this spring. Chidera Uzo-Diribe, Georgia’s outside linebackers coach, visited Ikinnagbon earlier this year and identified him as a major EDGE target. Ikinnagbon came for a big Georgia junior day and immediately made Georgia one of his favorites.

“They’re No. 1 on my list,” he remarked.

Ikinnagbon has already arranged an official visit to Georgia for May 31-June 2.

Other programs that ranked high on Ikinnagbon’s list were Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame. Ikinnagbon is the number one player in New Jersey. Georgia is recruiting him in an EDGE role, which may range from down defensive end to standup outside linebacker depending on how his body develops. Ikinnagbon is ranked No. 84 in the overall player rankings.

Ikinnagbon becomes Georgia’s seventh commitment for the 2025 class. He is the third defensive player, after linebacker Jadon Perlotte and defensive lineman Stephon Shivers.
