Titans interview Giants offensive coordinator for head coaching job

On Friday, Kafka and Brian Callahan finished their interviews for the open position.

The Tennessee Titans announced on Friday that they interviewed two applicants for the role of head coach.

Mike Kafka, the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants, completed a virtual interview with Titans management on Friday.

The team conducted a video interview with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan earlier Friday.

After serving as a graduate assistant at Northwestern for one season (2017), Kafka joined Andy Reid’s staff with the Kansas City Chiefs as a quality control coach. In 2018, he was elevated to quarterbacks coach and will remain with the Chiefs through 2021. In 2020-21, Kafka was the quarterbacks coach/pass game coordinator, where he worked with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Kafka joins the Giants as offensive coordinator in 2022.

In-person interviews cannot be done before January 22, although virtual interviews can.

The Titans announced on Tuesday that they were ‘parting ways’ with Mike Vrabel after six seasons.
