The Oklahoma Sooners finished 10-3 overall and 7-2 in conference play in their last Big 12 season, losing 38-24 to Arizona in the Alamo Bowl.

The Sooners are now members of the SEC, looking to build on last year’s success under coach Brent Venables.

Any FCS team that wins 10 or more games is usually well-stocked with depth at each position, and the Sooners were no exception, as proven by the fact that three quarterbacks from last year’s squad will start at three different schools this season.

First up is last year’s starter, Dillon Gabriel, who replaced Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks after throwing for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. Gabriel is a major candidate for this year’s Heisman Trophy and expects to lead the Ducks to the College Football Playoff.

Next up comes Jackson Arnold, Gabriel’s backup last year who has taken over as the Sooners’ starter. Arnold completed 44 of 69 pass attempts last season, totaling 563 yards and four touchdowns.

Finally, we have all-name captain General Booty, who did not play for the Sooners last season but was recently named starter at Louisiana-Monroe.

Booty will start for ULM and first-year coach Bryant Vincent. To start the season, the Warhawks will face Jackson State, then UAB and Texas.

Booty had a 32-yard touchdown run in Oklahoma’s spring game last year and could be one of the most entertaining non-Power league quarterback transfers to watch this season.
