Three Bulldogs were chosen in the latest first-round NFL mock draft ahead of the combine

Mel Kiper’s newest first-round NFL mock draft, released ahead of the combine this weekend, includes three former Bulldogs.

The NFL combine is due to take place this weekend, with a large number of draft eligible players hoping to make one more push to raise their draft position and make a good impression on all NFL clubs.

Before the event began, Mel Kiper issued a first-round mock draft to provide insight into where he believes some of the top prospects in the draft are now positioned.

Three former Bulldogs were included in the mock draft, with one being a top-10 selection. As things stand now, most draft gurus appear to be comfortable with that number when forecasting which Georgia players will hear their names called on the first day of the draft. If the Bulldogs perform as well in the combine as they have in previous years, that number may rise.

Brock Bowers was the first Bulldog off the board in Kiper’s mock draft, with the tenth pick going to the New York Jets. He stated that the necessity for quarterbacks and depth at other positions in this draft may prevent Bowers from being a top-10 pick this year, not that his talent isn’t deserving of such a high ranking.

Bowers stated that his preferred destination would be the Tennessee Titans, but the Jets might also be a viable alternative. Aaron Rodgers is anticipated to return this season, and matching Bowers with one of the greatest to ever play would be entertaining to see.

The next Georgia player on the list was Amarius Mims, who was drafted 24th overall by the Dallas Cowboys. According to draft gurus, Mims’ lack of collegiate starts is holding him out of the top 15. Although he only made eight starts at Georgia, his potential and ceiling will keep him in the first round.

A successful performance at the combine, however, could propel Mims up a few ranks in his position group rankings, which appears to be the most likely outcome.

Kamari Lassiter was selected 30th overall by the Baltimore Ravens, bringing the Bulldogs’ mock draft to completion. During his time as a starter at Georgia, Lassiter played clean football and was the epitome of a lockdown defender, constantly staying in good position.

Kiper stated that he is excited to see what he does in the 40-yard sprint this weekend, but based on all he has shown on film during his time in Athens, he appears to be a first-round pick.
