The Blues have struggled for form recently, but a win away at Cardiff City in midweek will provide much-needed confidence ahead of a busy festive period.
Wayne Rooney’s team has some extremely good players on their roster, and they can’t afford to lose them if they want to have a successful second half of the season.

Birmingham City cannot sell Jordan James in January
Welsh International, 19 years old James has recently piqued the curiosity of a number of teams as a result of his international performances.
According to Alan Nixon, Bologna and Leicester City were interested in James in April, while Everton, Blackburn Rovers, and Italian side Leece were rumored to be interested in the summer, according to The Sun and the Birmingham Mail.
Under previous manager John Eustace, the midfielder struggled to get game time, but has played a more significant role in the side under Wayne Rooney.
“Individually, it suits me a lot better,” James told the Birmingham Mail last month of playing under Rooney. We want to get it into the midfielders, two tens, and hurt teams, and that’s where I feel most at ease, getting on the ball on the half-turn and playing those passes through, and that really suits me.
“It’s been quite easy for me because all you ever do growing up is learn to play football on the deck and play the way the Man Citys play.” It’s been a very easy transition for me, but there are some players who have struggled because they’ve been playing a specific manner for a long time.”
This should come as a relief to Birmingham supporters. Losing the youngster in January would be disastrous for the Blues.
Birmingham City must hope Jay Stansfield is not recalled by Fulham
The Fulham loanee has been one of the Blues’ key goal threats this season and is well-liked by both the coaching staff and the fans.
Fulham had struggled for goals early in the season and were one of the division’s lowest scorers, raising fears that Stansfield may be recalled in January to assist reinforce the Cottagers’ attack.
However, the West London team appeared to have found their goal-scoring boots in recent weeks, recording two consecutive 5-0 Premier League triumphs, allaying fears that Stansfield would be recalled next month.
