The worst Premier League signings of the year, including an Arsenal failure and four Burnley stars, have been “confirmed”

According to statistics, the season’s worst Premier League signings have been identified.

WhoScored has looked at the summer acquisitions unable to make an impression at their new clubs after each Premier League team has played eight games so far this season.

Burnley, which recently received promotion, dominates the starting XI of summer signings with four players, while also including players from Bournemouth, Brentford, Aston Villa, Everton, Sheffield United, Arsenal, and Fulham.

Based on ratings from WhoScored, here is an XI of the worst summer transfers in the Premier League.

James Trafford (6.33), goalkeeper

After his heroics for England’s U21 European Championship-winning team, Trafford left Manchester City and joined Burnley for £19 million.

In the Premier League, only Sheffield United’s 22 goals allowed are more than Burnley’s 20 goals allowed. Trafford has the lowest save success rate in the division among goalkeepers who have stopped more than 20 shots thus far (57.1%).

Max Aarons, right back, is a 6.28.

Another member of the successful England U21 team, Max Aarons, moved to Bournemouth this summer in a deal worth up to £12 million.

Prior to being benched following a 4-0 loss to Arsenal at the end of September, Aarons started each of Bournemouth’s first seven league games.

The full-back’s 5.04 WhoScored rating against the Gunners is really the 11th-worst performance in the Premier League this season.

Nathan Collins, center back, is rated 6.66.

While Nathan Collins, a Republic of Ireland international, has started seven of Brentford’s first eight games since being acquired from Wolves for £23 million this summer, he has battled to find any consistency.

His lowest scoring effort (5.71) was three weeks ago in a 3-1 home loss to Everton.

Pau Torres, center back, scored 6.67.

Pau Torres has started all seven of Aston Villa’s league games since joining from Villarreal for an initial £33 million. In that time, the 26-year-old Spaniard has assisted in leading his team to two clean sheets.

Torres’ best performance was a 1-0 victory over Chelsea (7.13), and his worst was a 3-0 loss to Liverpool (6.15).

Ashley Young at left back, 6.29

Since joining Everton on a free transfer from Aston Villa in the summer, Ashley Young has started eight of the team’s games.

WhoScored lists the 38-year-old’s worst performances as losses to former team Villa (5.07) and newly promoted Luton Town (5.28).

Sander Berge, center midfield, is rated 6.34.

Sander Berge cost Burnley £15 million when he left Sheffield United, but so far the Norwegian has fouled the ball more often (7 times) than he has made crucial passes (5 times), with his 3-1 loss to Aston Villa at home representing his worst performance.

Vinicius Souza of Sheffield United, center midfield, scored 6.58.

For around £10 million, Vinicius Souza left Belgian second-division team Lommel S.K. to join Sheffield United.

The midfielder has so far made seven league starts for the Blades, and his lowest-rated effort came in the team’s 8-0 loss to Newcastle at home, where he received a WhoScored rating of 5.94.

Kai Havertz, center midfield, is rated 6.55.

Since joining to Arsenal from Chelsea for £65 million this summer, Kai Havertz has had trouble making an impression.

Havertz lost his place in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup after having started each of Arsenal’s opening four league games. His lowest-rated performance to date was a draw against Fulham at home, for which he received a WhoScored rating of 6.10.

Right wing: 6.35 Luca Koleosho

For over £3 million, Burnley acquired Luca Koleosho from Espanyol in July. Since then, the 19-year-old has started seven of Burnley’s eight games.

The young Italian national team member assisted Lyle Foster in scoring a goal against Tottenham in September. However, his performance with the lowest rating (5.71) was in the opening-day loss to Manchester City.

Raul Jimenez, striker; 6.40

Raul Jimenez, a Mexican striker, moved for £5 million from Wolves to Fulham in the summer to take Aleksander Mitrovic’s spot.

Since Jimenez has started seven games, he has attempted 11 attempts, but none of them have resulted in goals.

Zeki Amdouni, left wing: 6.69

Zeki Amdouni transferred from FC Basel to Turf Moor this summer for about £15 million.

The 22-year-old has made seven starts for the Clarets, and in a 2-0 loss to Newcastle, he recorded a season-low 6.16 WhoScored rating.
