The Wife Of Former Colts Player Pays Tribute To Late Husband

After the former Colts star’s death, Matt Ulrich’s widow Alison pays a moving tribute to her late husband at his funeral, saying, “It seems impossible to get through this ache in my heart without him.”

At Matt Ulrich’s funeral on Monday, Alison, his widow, gave a moving tribute to her “best friend.” Ulrich was a former Indianapolis Colts player.

Ulrich passed away earlier this month at the age of 41; his cause of death is still unknown. His four sons and his wife, Alison, are left behind.

During his one-year stint with Indianapolis, the offensive guard helped the Colts defeat the Chicago Bears in the 2007 championship game, winning the Super Bowl in the process.

Ulrich’s family and friends celebrated his life on Monday afternoon with a memorial service at a church in Bozeman, Montana.

“Matt meant a lot to a lot of people,” Alison remarked, trying not to cry. “Now that he’s leaving many of us with just a huge, huge hole in our hearts, he’s filled many of our buckets.”

“Matt was my best friend,” she said. With just a handshake, a hug, or placing my head on his chest, he was the only one who could end my agony. I can’t seem to get over this pain in my heart without him at the moment.

He could drive me absolutely insane and made me laugh until I started crying. He improved and strengthened me. He was a good lover.

“Matthew, I’ll miss your cooking and your jokes.” I shall miss your head kiss. I will miss all of the life you had left to give and all of the things we still had planned to accomplish in this life.

“I will miss seeing you adore our children and growing old with you.” Matty, I shall miss you always. You will always have a special place in my heart and soul.

A portion of Alison’s speech was also devoted to each of their four sons, stating that Matt has always regarded them as his “greatest accomplishments” in life.

During the service, their oldest son also performed a poem as a farewell to his father.

In closing, Alison expressed her gratitude to Matt for 15 years of “love and laughter.”

“God was aware of Matt’s final day.” She said, “We didn’t.” We all desired to spend more time with him, even if it was only for a single day. However, god grabbed him because he was in need of him. He saved him, knowing his hidden pain.

He’s probably fishing the rivers right now, getting in one last football game, making everyone laugh around the campfire with a silly story, or something. Jesus is requesting that he turn down the Sonos speaker whether he is DJing a party, playing with kids, or singing karaoke.

Heaven seems a bit brighter right now. Remember that Matt is still here when you’re all depressed and missing him. He remains in every one of your hearts, as well as in the young men down below. Recall the enjoyable moments, his laughter, and the way he made you laugh. Even though we’re all sad or angry sometimes, he wouldn’t want you to be.

‘Thank you Matt for everything. For 15 plus years of love and laughter, for filling my heart and soul and for the four best gifts in the world. I love you.’
