The next opposition to Boss of Town makes a “horrific admission” regarding his group

The manager of Ipwich Town’s upcoming opponents has acknowledged that occasionally his team doesn’t appear good enough for the second division.

As they get ready to face Town at home one week from Friday, Rotherham boss Matt Taylor has granted his players a week off during the international break.

The Millers ended the first half with a respectable point at Southampton, but they have only secured one victory in their first 11 games, placing them second from the bottom of the standings.

Taylor revealed he’s told his players he doesn’t want to see them before they return to training on Sunday. “I’m always proud of them because I see what they do every single day, I see the effort they put in,” Taylor added.

“There are times when we look like we’re not good enough in the Championship – that’s a horrible thing to say as a manager, a horrible admission – but I believe we are good enough to stay up.”

And Taylor emphasized that his club must perform when league play resumes on October 20th, live on Sky Sports (8pm), against the improbable Town.

“We have to pick up points when we’re in games, which is what we did today,” Taylor stated.

“I’m ecstatic by the way the players handled the ball in the second half.

“Now we have to back that up with a rest and then a big performance at home to Ipswich.”
