The New York Yankees are interested in trading for the center fielder of their division rival

In order to get a new center fielder, the New York Yankees are willing to make a trade with their division rivals.

The MLB offseason of 2023–2024 will need the New York Yankees to execute at least one trade for an outfielder. There are other areas the squad needs to work on, but the outfield problems are the most crucial.

The Yankees lack an outfield player for every game because of Aaron Judge’s injury from the previous season, Stanton’s limited ability to play the field most days, and Jasson Dominguez’s Tommy John surgery.

It feels like New York has been looking for a left fielder for ten years now. They will have alternatives to figure that out, and it is anticipated that they will. Additionally, the center field position needs to be addressed. The Yankees need outfielders, other than Judge in right field.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays have discussed Manuel Margot.

According to people briefed on the discussions but not permitted to comment publicly, the Yankees have had numerous discussions with the Rays this offseason regarding Manuel Margot in an effort to acquire both a center fielder and a left Fielder. The Rays are speaking to other teams about Margot as well.”

Fans won’t be very moved by the name Margot. He has, nevertheless, been a productive big leaguer for the majority of his career. Margot’s problem is akin to the one the Yankees have previously encountered. Over the last three seasons, he has averaged 104 games played while battling hamstring strains, a sprained right knee, and elbow surgery on August 15.

The Yankees may be able to move for a low-value prospect because of those injuries.
