Terry Saban discusses what Nick Saban did following Michigan’s setback

Terry Saban discusses Nick Saban refused to watch Texas-Washington following Michigan’s setback.

After his Alabama Crimson Tide lost 27-20 in overtime to Michigan on Monday night, Nick Saban had no desire to watch the Sugar Bowl, the other College Football Playoff semifinal.

After the Tide’s Rose Bowl loss, Terry Saban revealed to USA TODAY what Nick Saban’s viewing intentions were.

Instead of watching Texas play Washington in the second CFP semifinal game later that night, the Sabans planned to watch a Netflix movie.

Terry Saban chatted with her husband after Nick Saban’s news conference on Monday night. She told USA TODAY what they talked about.

“Would you like to see the other football game?” Terry Saban asked.

“Not really,” Nick Saban said.
Terry Saban replied, “OK, let’s watch Netflix.’’
Terry Saban stated that she and Nick Saban were watching a foreign film. “It’s Turkish or something,” she explained, adding that her husband would benefit from having to read the subtitles.
“It completely gets your mind off of (the defeat),” she said.
Terry Saban has inquired about Nick Saban’s well-being following the loss.

“After 52 years of doing it, we’ve seen it before, right?” And you look for the silver lining in order to train other players for the next time.”

With a win over fourth-seeded Alabama in the Rose Bowl on Monday, top-seeded Michigan advanced to its first College Football Playoff championship game with a 17-yard touchdown run by Blake Corum on the second snap of overtime.

When Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was stopped on fourth down from the Michigan 3, Michigan’s defense concluded only the second overtime game in the Rose Bowl’s 110-year history. Coach Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines will face Washington for their first national championship since 1997 on Jan. 8 in Houston.
