Terrific Leeds Rhinos starlet makes shock transfer

Superb rated Bailey Aldridge, a teenage player for the Leeds Rhinos, made an unexpected move and departed the Headingley team.

After rising through the Rhinos junior system, Aldridge, a hooker, got a two-year contract with League One team Oldham.

He played in two preseason games this year under head coach Rohan Smith, earning him first team experience for his outstanding efforts in the Leeds lineup.

And Aldridge, who was born in Mirfield, comes to Boundary Park hoping to experience professional rugby for the first time.

It’s a fantastic chance for me to establish myself on a larger platform and in a stronger league. To push myself, I’ve signed with Oldham,” he declared.

“I had some preseason experience with the Rhinos first team, and I’m excited to prove my mettle in League One.”

“I’m honored to have signed with Oldham, and I’m ready to absorb knowledge from the best.” With our current group, I believe we can contend with any team in this division and possibly take home some hardware.

“I consider myself to have a very high skill level, excellent game knowledge, and a formidable threat out of dummy half. I also play defense with a lot of tenacity.”

The 5ft 9in hooker played his amateur rugby at Batley Boys as well as Kippax Welfare and signed for Rhinos when he was 14.

The 5′ 9″ hooker attended Batley Boys and Kippax Welfare for his amateur rugby career before signing with the Rhinos at the age of 14.

He captained the under-17 team while he was a member of the Rhinos junior setup, and his efforts earned him a professional deal with the team halfway through the 2022 campaign.

That year, he played for the academy team that won the Grand Final by defeating St Helens 26–22 in golden point play.

Aldridge was a crucial member of the team as they advanced to the championship, scoring three tries in nine games.

He played for Yorkshire in the Academy Origin series that same season, and he scored a try in the team’s 34-14 defeat to Lancashire.

With Aldridge’s signing, Oldham’s team for the upcoming 2024 season now numbers 20.
