The Tennessee Vols are among the top four schools for 2025 four-star safety CJ Jimcoily, but it appears doubtful that he would sign to UT.

Jimcoily, a 6-foot-3,205-pound safety from Nashville, Tennessee, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 33 safety in the country and the No. 11 player in Tennessee.

LSU, Stanford, Alabama, and Tennessee are the top programs for Jimcoily, who plans to announce his commitment on August 8.

The Lipscomb Academy standout played alongside numerous current Vols in high school.

“They have a lot of my teammates down there,” Jimcoily told Vol Report earlier this spring. “Edwin Spillman balled out in the spring game, and they also have Kaleb Beasley and Nate Spillman, all guys that came from Lipscomb Academy, so I definitely have my eyes on them.”

“I’ve relied on those guys when it comes to Tennessee,” Jimcoily remarked. “I know I can get a real picture and a real image because every school will attempt to show you their greatest things, their highlight reel, but the players can tell you the real deal. So I turn to KB, Edwin, and Nate to hear what they have to say.

Those contacts do not appear to be sufficient to sway Jimcoily to Tennessee.

According to Rivals.com national recruiting expert Sam Spiegelman, the battle for Jimcoily is believed to be between Stanford and LSU. And it looks that the Tigers hold the advantage ahead of his decision.

“Jimcoily made official visits to Palo Alto and Baton Rouge last month, and this decision is expected to come down to the Cardinal and the Tigers,” Spiegelman reported this week. “LSU has been trending up with the Rivals250 safety ever since his official visit to campus.”

Never say never in recruiting. However, it appears like the Vols will lose this battle.
