Tennessee football scores a major victory over…

Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers secured a significant football commitment on Saturday afternoon. It’s actually as big as a home.

Charles House, a 6’3″, 290-pound defensive lineman from Charlotte (North Mecklenburg), picked the Volunteers over Alabama and Georgia.

On Three Sports had House outranked all of the other major recruiting services. House is a 4-star recruit with On3, ranking as the #24 defensive lineman and the #9 player in North Carolina. The other major recruiting services rate House as a three-star talent.

House, on the other hand, has plenty of prospective suitors among flagship programs. His offers included Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, USC, Auburn, LSU, and Florida, among others.

Tennessee hosted House for an official visit last weekend. As it turned out, Tennessee benefited greatly from the timing, as House’s visit to Knoxville was the Vols’ penultimate before heading to Alabama and Georgia. House traveled to Tuscaloosa on May 31 and Athens on June 7.

House, a member of the 2025 recruiting class, will be able to sign with the Vols when early signing day arrives on December 4. The huge defender had 40 tackles and 5 sacks for North Mecklenburg High in his sophomore year, and 22 tackles and 3 sacks last year.
