Nottingham Forest are actively reshaping their roster ahead of the new season, but one player appears to have been dropped from the shortlist.

Nuno Espirito Santo has already signed five players to the Reds’ roster in order to improve their team for the following season.

Marko Stamenic has signed and then joined Olympiacos on loan, while Eric da Silva Moreira, Carlos Miguel, Elliot Anderson, and Nikola Milenkovic have all joined.

Forest still have a number of positions that need to be filled, and Espirito Santo will be eager to complete those before the start of the new season.

A new striker will most certainly be on the list of transfer targets this summer, but one player linked with Forest must now be removed off the list.

Nottingham Forest target set to sign for Serie A club Torino

Fabrizio Romano issued a transfer update this afternoon, providing Forest with an update on their quest for a new striker.

Romano commented on X earlier today, saying: “Torino is close to signing Che Adams as a free agent; talks are currently in the final stages.

“Che Adams has approved project presented by Torino and final details are being sorted.”

Che Adams was linked with a move to the City Ground, but it looks he is now poised to sign with Torino in Italy.

Adams was in good form at Southampton last season, scoring 15 goals as the club won promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs.

The 28-year-old can play in a variety of places around the final third, and his versatility may have been advantageous.

Adams was with the Scotland squad in Germany for Euro 2024, starting all three games as they were eliminated in the tournament’s group stages.

He’s been dubbed ‘terrific’ in the past, and now he’ll look to establish himself as a major star in Italy with Torino.

Forest can get better than Adams

This is probably not worth losing sleep over, and Forest has better options – ones more suited to a Espirito Santo style of play – to choose from.

Okay, Adams would have been free, which would have made him an appealing prospect for the Reds.

His goalscoring record in the Championship was impressive last season, but he hasn’t always been as clinical in the Premier League.

Given that the forward is now 28, he may not fit into Forest’s recruitment strategy, which could explain why the club did not win the race.

Torino appears to be a decent move for Adams, and his next challenge will be to show Forest and Wolves what they have missed out on in the transfer market.
