Super fan of the Cleveland Browns remembers a friend who passed away: “He just enjoyed life.”

Doug West expressed his sad feeling over his friend Ron Buehner who passed away.

“I don’t mean to get emotional right now, I’m sorry” said Doug West.

West did shed a few tears as we talked about the Cleveland Browns.

The games they won, the games they lost, and friendships created over his fandom the year, especially his close friend Ron Buehner.

“He just enjoyed life,” said West.

Sadly, before this season’s home opener, 56-year-old Buehner passed away after having liver problems. Not only was he West’s friend, but also his travel buddy on Browns ‘mancations’ across the world.

West currently lives in North Carolina, but he may be a familiar face.

In 2017, 19 News spoke with him as the Browns took over London, guess who was right by his side, his Browns brother Ron Buehner.

During this season’s victory over the Bengals West made sure he sure his buddy was right there.

“We actually had pictures of his face blown up and we made sure he got into the stadium one last time” said West.

West describes Ron as a family man, loyal, life of the party, a true friend and Browns fans with a similar wish, to see his favorite team win a Superbowl.

Although Ron will never get to see that happen, West hopes he can one day say he saw his favorite player get a ring, with Ron’s fun spirit there with him.

If that never happens the unbreakable Browns friendships he’s made are more than enough.

“I hope one day I see the Browns win something but if they don’t, OK. They’ve given me a lot,” said West.
