Sunderland player wants to move on with Tony Mowbray as Burnley are interested to sign him

Jack Clarke wants to move up from Sunderland in the Championship.
Last season, the 22-year-old winger helped Sunderland lose to Luton Town over two legs in the play-off semi-finals after scoring nine goals in the Championship and dishing out thirteen assists.
Clarke has scored seven goals so far this campaign, carrying over his strong play from last year.
Burnley is thought to have made many bids for Clarke during the summer, but Sunderland, who is rumored to be eager to sign Clarke to a new contract, reportedly turned down their proposals. The athlete seemed intent on competing at the Stadium of Light as well.
“I’ve lost twice now in the play-off semi-finals, and you can only try and use that experience to your advantage, or it will eat away at you,” Clarke stated to Sky Sports. It might serve as a springboard for us to improve as a squad this season and win this league.
“Hopefully we can get into the play-offs or higher and go one better this year, and finish on a real high.”
Tony Mowbray, the head coach of Sunderland, recently reaffirmed that, despite Burnley’s repeated offers, Clarke never actively pursued a move away from Sunderland and that the two get along well.
Clarke declares, “I love playing for the gaffer.” He’s been excellent with all the other boys as well as me. He allows you the freedom to express yourself as a young attacking player, and that’s all I want to do.
“I believe he recognized our squad’s strengths. We spent a lot of time honing our strengths and strategies for different kinds of games. Putting the ball in the right places and acting appropriately when it matters.
“Every week, I go out there and give it my all. Things seem right sometimes, and wrong sometimes. to have fun playing football and to try new things. He provides you with that stage.”
Tuesday night in the Championship at the King Power Stadium will see Sunderland’s next game against Leicester City.
Tony Mowbray’s team entered the match having lost three of their previous five games, including last weekend’s league setback at the Bet365 Stadium against Alex Neil’s Stoke City, 2-1.
