Star is fit for visit Leicester City, and Swans will make a last-minute Cabango call

The Swans will undoubtedly be happy to see Kristian Pedersen return from injury this weekend, and Ben Cabango will receive a late call from the team as they get ready to host Derby City on Saturday afternoon at Swansea.com Stadium.

Due to injuries, Pedersen (groin) and Cabango (hamstring) have missed all of the games before the international break. Cabango will also miss the Welsh games during the break.

Even if Cabango is declared fit, it seems doubtful that either will be added right away to the starting lineup. Still, Michael Duff will be happy to have both players back in the matchday squads, given he is already without Josh Ginnelly, Joe Allen, and Nathan Wood, the long-term absentees.

Speaking at his weekly press conference, Duff was getting ready for Leicester’s arrival. Leicester has won ten of their first eleven league games this year, making it one of the best starts to a Championship season ever.

The Swans, who have won four straight, will view the weekend match as a true test of the team’s current status and as one of the toughest tests of the season—if not the hardest one.

“The squad is looking healthier, Kristian Pedersen is fit and has trained all week,” Duff said. “Ben Cabango is touch and go; he is on the grass now and we will assess where he is.

It’s only Ben who is a question mark. Like I say, he is touch and go for the weekend, but he should be available for Tuesday against Watford regardless of what happens.

“He is very close to being available.”

The Swans face Leicester at home on Saturday (3pm) and Watford visit SA1 on Tuesday evening (7.45pm)
