South Alabama’s safety will join the NCAA transfer portal
South Alabama safety Jaden Voisin revealed his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Sunday.
Voisin, a first-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2023, has one more season of eligibility. The announcement came only one day after the Jaguars defeated Eastern Michigan 59-10 in the 68 Ventures Bowl to complete a 7-6 season.
Voisin joined South Alabama in 2019 after graduating from Crestview High School in Florida, and he became a starter in 2022. That year, he had 80 tackles and two interceptions, followed by 71 stops, seven pass breakups, and a team-high four pickoffs in 2023.
Devin Voisin, Voisin’s twin brother, is a Jaguars starting wide receiver. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 against Southeastern Louisiana, although he is expected to return in 2024.
Voisin is the third South Alabama starter to declare his intention to enter the portal since the regular season ended. Caullin Lacy, an All-Sun Belt wide receiver, has already transferred to Louisville, while offensive guard Dontae Lucas indicated last week that he would play his senior season elsewhere.
