The Detroit Lions have been without one of their top defensive backs for the duration of the season after C.J. Gardner-Johnson, a recent free agent addition, tore his pectoral during the team’s Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

However, it appears that he will be rejoining the team in the near future.

According to ESPN, C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s 21-day practice window may begin as soon as next week if he is medically cleared to return. Following this update, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell praised Gardner-Johnson for having “mutant genes” that facilitated his quick recovery.
