Sky Sports host gives his opinion on Ipswich Town’s promotion chances

David Prutton believes Leeds United will defeat Preston North End when the teams meet on Tuesday (December 26).

On the Sky Sports website on Sunday (24 December), the host stated that the Lilywhites are going through a “frustrating spell” after winning just one of their last seven Championship games, whereas the Whites will be “feeling fantastic” after their 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday (23 December).

He expects Daniel Farke’s side to win 2-0 against the Lancashire club, putting more pressure on the Tractor Boys before they face table-topping Leicester City later on Tuesday.

“Leeds will be overjoyed with their victory over Ipswich.” They can cut the deficit to four points, knowing that Ipswich will face Leicester later in the day. Things may get interesting quickly. Away win, and the Tractor Boys are under pressure.”

Leeds’ early kick-off time has provided them with a fantastic opportunity to put pressure on Ipswich before they face Leicester.

If the Whites can cut the deficit on the Tractor Boys to just four points, they will know they must win against the Foxes at Portman Road.

After Farke’s side has already done the double over their promotion rivals this season, the 4-0 thrashing on Saturday could have handed a big psychological blow to the Suffolk outfit.

However, the German will want to ensure that his players are completely focused on their own game, as Preston will present a difficult task, as they are only four points outside the playoffs despite sitting 13th in the table.

If there’s one thing the West Yorkshire club would want to improve on this season, it’s their fairly mediocre away form, so this is an opportunity to go out there and claim a potentially massive three points in Lancashire.
