While he wasn’t the fastest in the 40-yard dash, he demonstrated his elusiveness in the remaining workouts. He demonstrated his ability to reverse direction swiftly, outpacing several of the other competitors in the workouts. Corum followed up by performing the most bench presses of any running back at the tournament.

We’ve seen it before at the Combine. Last year, Nolan Smith’s stats were off the charts. He had an extremely dismal season with the Eagles. The quickest players in the 40-yard dash frequently do not make it to the NFL. It’s fantastic to see Corum do well at the NFL Combine. However, Bayless falls into a common trap at this time of year. We fall in love with drills and forget that they aren’t a perfect representation of what will happen on the field.

Did the event boost Corum’s draft stock? Probably. Many of the running backs were major winners, and it’ll be fascinating to watch which team signs the Wolverines running back in April.
