Signing confirmed as rival make transfer admission

West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City are having completely contrasting seasons in the Championship.

Both teams had a solid start to the season, with the Blues climbing to sixth place after a 3-1 home win over the Baggies on match day 11.

While West Brom have been able to continue their excellent start, the Blues imploded under Wayne Rooney, winning just two of their next 15 games before replacing the ex-Manchester United captain with the more tried and tested Tony Mowbray.

Both clubs are likely to be active in the January transfer market in the coming weeks, so it will be intriguing to see what changes Mowbray makes.

Meanwhile, Birmingham World has compiled all of the most recent transfer updates and rumours from the rest of the division.

Stoke City confirm signing of former Plymouth favourite in ambitious loan deal

Stoke City are aiming for big things in the second half of the season, and new manager Steven Schumacher has stated that he wants to construct a team that will resonate with the fans.

Schumacher led Plymouth to promotion last season and had a solid first six months in the second tier before moving to Stoke. His most recent transfer move adds salt to the wounds of his old employers, who he beat to the signing of excellent midfielder Luke Cundle.

Cundle was signed by Schumacher on a six-month loan contract over the summer and spent the first half of the season at Home Park, where he played 24 games and had three goals and five assists.

The Wolves player has agreed to a six-month loan contract with Stoke City, keeping him with the club until the end of the season.

Last season, the 21-year-old played for Swansea, where he scored three goals and provided four assists in 32 games.

Swansea City boss Luke Williams gives verdict on Macaulay Langstaff links

Luke Williams decided to go up two divisions after 18 amazing months at Notts County to take on the Swansea City position. Williams takes over a side that has only scored 35 goals in 26 games. Many supporters have urged for a striker to be signed in January to help the club’s play-off chances.

The former Notts County manager has been linked with a transfer for his former Meadow Lane talisman Macaulay Langstaff, who scored a National League-record 42 goals last season.

Langstaff has been a revelation for Williams, spearheading his team’s good start to the season in League Two, scoring 19 goals in his first 26 appearances. Williams, on the other hand, was quick to dispel talk of a transfer, which would come as a comfort to his previous employers.

“This is the king of Meadow Lane we’re talking about,” he said about Langstaff on BBC Radio Nottingham. I want to make sure he’s available to assist them in being promoted.”
